A couple of notes on supplies:
- Make sure you get the flat back rhinestones, not the hot fix stones.
- You should only need one bottle of the Gem-Tac glue.
- A lot of people recommend using E6000 glue. This does hold very well but there are a couple of drawbacks compared to the Gem-Tac glue. First, E6000 is toxic. I did use this at first and even with a respirator and all windows open, I still got sick from the fumes. Gem-Tac is odorless like regular glue, so you can use it even without a respirator and be fine. Second, if you get E6000 on the stones, it will make them look cloudy and it is very difficult to clean them off once dried. Gem-Tac dries very clear, so even if you get it on the stones, it will still be sparkly.

A general note:
- The person who helped me do mine recommends using a honeycomb (offset) pattern rather than putting the stones side by side. This leaves you with less in terms of gaps between stones and helps to minimize the amount of original material showing through. I used this technique and it worked really well. It can get a little trickier on shapes with curves, but you will be able to determine what stones fit where with ease.
For the shield logo on the front of the jersey:
- I used mostly SS16 stones, filling in with smaller sizes as needed.
- I started from the outside and worked inwards. So I did the navy outline first, then the gold outline. For the wording, I did the letters (in crystal) before I filled in the red around it.
- Before doing all the fill in but after I did the outlining and the lettering, I also did some of the smaller details (e.g., the eyes, mouth, etc.) because it made me feel like I was getting stuff done. I then filled in the bigger sections around that because it is much easier to place the bigger stones around the little ones than the other way around.
For the numbers on the sleeves:
- I used mostly SS10 stones with some SS3s where needed.
- I first did the gold outline, which is two rows of stones. Again, I used the honeycomb pattern.
- I then filled in with the crystal stones.
For the name on the back of the jersey:
- I used mostly SS10 stones with some SS3s as needed to fill in.
- I started at one end (typically the lefthand side of the letter) and worked my way to the opposite side of the letter.
- For letters where there is a middle part (e.g., the line across the middle of an A, the diagonal line on the N, I did the two side pieces first and then filled in the middle part.
For the numbers on the back of the jersey:
- I used mostly SS16 stones, filling in with smaller sizes as needed.
- I followed the same process as the numbers on the sleeves above but with the bigger stones.
For the side patches (the Panther and the Florida flag – this was the most complicated):
- I used mostly SS10 and SS3 with the blue SS4 for the portion around the sun.
- On the patch with the word “Florida”, I first did the blue outline, then the gold inner outline (both SS10). I then did the lettering (SS3) before filling in with the red (mixed sizes).
- On the patch with the Panther and the flag, I first did the navy outline (SS10). I then did the gold outline around the flag (also SS10). I then moved on to the other parts as follows:
- On the panther, I started with the fine details (the eye and mouth in blue and the white / crystal accents, all in SS3) as these are the smallest and would be difficult to squeeze in around larger stones.
- I then did the blue area around the feet (just above the top of the flag) before filling in the rest with the gold.
- For the flag, I did the red areas first. I outlined them with SS3 stones and then filled in with the SS10s.
- I then moved on to the white / crystal sections. I outlined the portion around the blue circle (between the red stripes) with the SS3 stones before filling in each section (mostly SS10, with some SS3).
- For the sun, I used SS3 for the rays (3 stones in a triangle shape) and used them to outline the center of the sun. I then filled in the center with SS10 and a couple of SS3 to fill the gaps.
- Finally, I used SS4 stones to fill in the blue area around the sun.
